PLT Client Catch Up~May 22, '20
A 3 minute read
What’s your name and where do you come from?
Tracy Williams, currently living in Florida, although I am originally from South Africa.
Do you have a family and what’s your profession?
I live with my amazing wife, Lora (also a PLT client) and our 17 year old son, Ethan. We also have 4 fur babies (2 Bengals and 2 pups). I am a BCBA - basically I am a behavior analyst and work predominantly with children and adults with autism. I have been in this field for 30 years and still love my job!
How did you get introduced to PLT?
I met Patti and Paul through another FB page. I was so very inspired by both their journeys. I had actually reached out to Paul before PLT existed and he was always so helpful with information regarding training and information related to fitness and nutrition.
Who is your coach?
The awesome and amazing Patti Lawson.
Name 3 things that sum up your thoughts on your coach
1. Savage - this woman can conquer it all! Seeing her journey has been such a huge inspiration
2. Fierce - I love how Patti takes on her challenges and shares this with us, inspiring us to push ourselves further
3. Kind - Patti can tell you I am far from perfect, but she has been so patient with me, and encourages me without judgement. I mean she may be judging me…but she never lets on.
Are you engaged in regular exercise/a sport?
Yes, I actually started with Patti for training. I had done macros through a different company and lost about 50 pounds. However, I needed help with training. Enter Patti! I had no idea I could make muscles…but am so happy to see the progress. Currently I try to lift with what limited weights we have and received a Peloton for my birthday which I am enjoying.
How did you find your PLT onboarding experience & community experience?
Patti, Paul and the entire community is so supportive. It truly feels like an extended family.
What dieting programs had you tried previously and what makes PLT standout from previous programs?
I have tried and failed at many, WW, Atkins (I love bacon, you would think it was perfect), Jenny Craig and so many others. I finally tried macros and it clicked. I lost about 50 with that program. I had a very good coach, but needed both training and coaching and wanted that to be working together versus separately.
What was your driving reason for joining PLT?
It was because of the training that Patti provided that I started at PLT and then added the nutrition, as Lora and I prepared for our wedding in February. Lora joined with Patti too and we were thrilled with the results.
How much weight have you lost with PLT?
In total 20 pounds.
What non-scale successes have you found since joining PLT?
Where does one start??…. Size 2. bicep vein, chin up, pull up, ran an entire 5K, completed a rope climb, monkey bars, did a Spartan sprint. I may be critical of all my challenging areas…but I have not been this in shape since my early 20’s and I just turned 50!
How have you increased your nutritional education since PLT?
The foundation was there thanks to previous programming, but I really feel Patti helped with a number of different formats I had not tried. She also helped me become aware that I could do low carb to get to certain goals. The first macros I got, she got an immediate text of “we need to talk” and she was there. She encouraged me to go beyond my comfort zone and I am so thankful she did.
What 1 piece of advice would you give to people considering joining PLT or new members?
Trust the process. Seriously….you don't need motivation, motivation comes by hitting your numbers and seeing the results…this becomes the cycle… Hit them…see results…motivated to keep going. And a bonus piece of advice: Do you. Everyone is different, this is your journey and yours alone. You can be inspired by others and that is awesome, but do you!
Your turn now; what 1 thing would you like to ask me?
What size shirt do you wear, as you clearly need me to send you some. Joking… kind of… but the real question: What are your hopes and goals for PLT? and will there be an app?
Hi Tracy and thanks for your question!
I used to be a size smedium but am a large now hahaha thanks! I have never wanted PLT to be a very large company, I value our ethics and code of conduct so much and I fear when a company reaches a certain size it often loses sight of ethics & morals. I have seen this up close, companies become about profit and pretend to be about the client and their health.
My goal for PLT is to create a company that always puts the customer and their health first whilst delivering a first-class service & experience for a value fee. I tell many people I am not a businessman and I care very little about money.... I want you, my client, to feel they receive a hands-on 'family business' style level of service but with all the bells & whistles needed to run a smooth operation. Despite our fledgling years, we have had high-end payment systems and processes for some time. I want my coaches to be well treated and happy, interacting with their clients and not hiding behind automated high-volume processes.
Yes, there is an app, 'The PLT Client Hub' designed to replace the spreadsheet. It has been delayed sadly due to lockdown, but its very close to being completed and hopefully rolled out to clients.
Here’s a pic of the login screen
Tks for your awesome question
