PLT Blood Test Biomarkers
HbA1c (Hemoglobin A1c) is a biomarker that measures the average blood sugar levels over the past 2-3 months and is used to diagnose and monitor diabetes. Levels that are consistently above 5.6% may warrant a visit to a physician.
25-(OH) Vitamin D is a biomarker for assessing vitamin D status, essential for bone strength, immunity, and well-being. Low levels can cause bone problems, weak immunity, and higher risk of chronic disease. High levels can cause toxicity.
Standard physicals don't test 25-(OH) Vitamin D - PLT includes it.
Albumin is a protein made by the liver that helps maintain blood volume and pressure. Low levels can indicate liver disease, kidney problems, or malnutrition.
The ApoB/ApoA1 ratio is valuable for detecting atherogenic risk. Lower ratios indicate lower risk.
Standard physicals don't test ApoB:ApoA1 Ratio - PLT includes it.
ApoA1 is the main protein in HDL-C particles, important for cholesterol transport. It assesses cardiovascular disease risk.
Standard physicals don't test Apolipoprotein A1 (APOA1) - PLT includes it.
ApoB transports "bad" cholesterol and contributes to plaque formation. High levels increase cardiovascular risk.
Standard physicals don't test Apolipoprotein B (APOB) - PLT includes it.
C-Peptide is released when insulin is produced by the pancreas, serving as a marker of insulin secretion. High levels suggest insulin resistance; low levels may indicate reduced insulin production.
Standard physicals don't test C-Peptide - PLT includes it.
Total cholesterol measures the overall cholesterol in your blood, including LDL-C and HDL-C. High levels can increase heart disease and stroke risk.
DHEA-S is a hormone from the adrenal glands that helps regulate metabolism, immunity, and stress response. Abnormal levels may indicate adrenal disorders, PCOS, or chronic stress.
Standard physicals don't test DHEA-S - PLT includes it.
Reflects balance between anabolic (DHEA-S) and catabolic (cortisol) activity. Low ratio may indicate stress or adrenal dysfunction; high ratio is generally positive.
Standard physicals don't test DHEA-S:Cortisol Ratio - PLT includes it.
Standard physicals don't test Estim. Avg Glu (eAG) - PLT includes it.
Estradiol regulates menstrual cycle, reproductive system, bone health, and hormonal balance in both sexes. Abnormal levels can affect cardiovascular health and mood.

Standard physicals don't test Ferritin - PLT includes it.
FSH regulates reproductive health. In women, it controls menstrual cycle and egg growth; in men, sperm production.
Standard physicals don't test FSH - PLT includes it.
FAI estimates active testosterone in the body. Important for diagnosing PCOS or low testosterone in men.
Standard physicals don't test FAI - PLT includes it.
HDL-C is "good" cholesterol that removes excess cholesterol from the bloodstream and protects arteries.
Measures low-level inflammation. High levels are linked to cardiovascular disease and insulin resistance.
Standard physicals don't test hs-CRP - PLT includes it.
LDL-C is "bad" cholesterol that can form plaques in arteries, increasing cardiovascular risk.
Compares LDL-C to ApoB. Low ratio indicates higher proportion of dense LDL particles and increased cardiovascular risk.
Standard physicals don't test LDL-C:ApoB Ratio - PLT includes it.
Compares LDL to HDL to assess heart disease risk. Lower ratios indicate better cardiovascular health.
Standard physicals don't test LDL-C:HDL-C Ratio - PLT includes it.
LH:FSH balance indicates reproductive health. Abnormal ratios may suggest PCOS or other endocrine issues.
Standard physicals don't test LH:FSH Ratio - PLT includes it.
Lp(a) is a cholesterol particle linked to cardiovascular risk. Levels are largely genetic and not affected by lifestyle.
Standard physicals don't test Lp(a) - PLT includes it.
LH regulates ovulation in women and testosterone production in men. Abnormal levels indicate reproductive issues.
Standard physicals don't test LH - PLT includes it.
Progesterone regulates menstrual cycle, pregnancy support, and reproductive health in both sexes.
Standard physicals don't test Progesterone - PLT includes it.

Standard physicals don't test Testosterone, Total (Females) - PLT includes it.
Measures balance between testosterone and cortisol, reflecting hormonal health and stress adaptation.
Standard physicals don't test Testosterone:Cortisol Ratio - PLT includes it.
TSH assesses thyroid function. High or low levels indicate hypo- or hyperthyroidism.
Standard physicals don't test TSH - PLT includes it.
Compares total cholesterol to HDL-C. Lower ratios indicate better cardiovascular health.
Standard physicals don't test Total Cholesterol:HDL Ratio - PLT includes it.
Triglycerides are blood fats. High levels increase risk for heart disease, stroke, and diabetes.
Compares triglycerides to HDL-C. High ratio indicates higher cardiovascular and insulin resistance risk.
Standard physicals don't test Triglycerides:HDL Ratio - PLT includes it.
VLDL transports triglycerides. High levels contribute to plaque buildup and cardiovascular risk.

When does my plan start?
Your plan starts when you agree a start date with your health coach. Your plans weeks don't commence until you have met personally with your coach and agreed on a suitable day to start. This way you never lose any paid for weeks. Do my payments start immediately?
Yes, your payments start immediately even though your plan may start a week or so later. Do not worry , you never lose weeks, your payments will end prior to your final plan end date. Is this plan macro-based?
Yes, PLT Nutrition asks clients to loosely track their food in a very unique approach but our approach to health is much deeper than macros. Our plans are much more than simple macros. Will you tell me what to eat?
No, PLT Nutrition doesn't believe meal plans are a good approach. Your personal coach will definitely help you make better informed choices to achieve your goals, but they won't deliver you a meal plan. Meal plans are restrictive and passive, and they won't teach you how to eat in the long term and we believe in a lifelong sustainable approach to eating. Want to read more? We talk more about meal plans in this blog post. Can you help with my menopausal symptoms?
Absolutely! We have been working primarily with menopausal women for 7 years and with proven results. We even have coaches who are menopausal practitioners and members of the North American & British Menopause Society. in fact, 93% of our clients are peri/post menopausal, its an area we specialize in. Improved nutrition and exercise/movement patterns are the first line of defense for symptoms! Will my coach understand menopause?
Yes, our coaches are women's health experts and 93% of our clients are menopausal so you will be in excellent hands. I am using a GLP-1 weight loss medication under direction of my Doctor. Can you help me?
Yes, we have many clients who are on Wegovy, Contrave or Tirzepetide weight loss medication and we are helping them sustain a healthy, nutritious and balanced diet whilst they lose weight. Our method of lifestyle change compliments the weight loss medications as it helps our clients sustain their weight loss which the drug alone does not support. We take a very specific approach with GLP-1 users to ensure they minimize side-effects and maximize results. Do you accept HSA/FSA?
Yes, our website will accept HSA/FSA card. If you don't have a card, we have an NPI (Network Provider Identification) number and can provide a detailed invoice should you request one. Are the coaches fully qualified and insured?
All our health coaches are industry qualified experts. Our team consists of menopausal practitioners, Registered Dietitians, Certified Nutritionists, and Holistic Practitioners. All of our health coaches are required to maintain their industry qualifications. All of our health coaches are fully insured. |
