What’s your name and where are you from? Do you have a family? My name is Christina Caceres from Kenosha, Wisconsin. I am married to Kevin, with an almost 18-year-old son and 19-year-old daughter. How did you get introduced to PLT? I found PLT through Peloton Nutrition. Who is your coach?
Mandye Woodbury Name 3 things that sum up your thoughts on your coach. Mandye is thoughtful, nurturing, and among your biggest cheerleaders. Her knowledgeable feedback and cheery demeanor week after week are the highlights of my Thursdays. Are you engaged in regular exercise/sport? I have recently begun Peloton Split Training, so I am using my Peloton bike less than before. I also do Thunder 45 every Sunday for a solid HIIT workout. I am really liking both of these right now because I have a lot of room for growth. My weights are getting heavier and I’m slowly climbing that leaderboard on Sundays. How did you find your PLT onboarding experience & community experience? PLT onboarding was seamless. The community reminded me that more information provided would be best for coaching decisions, so I laid it all on the line. Patti worked her magic, and the rest is history. One of the greatest attributes that PLT community offers is the ability to make people feel comfortable enough to ask questions. As a macro newbie a year ago, there are certain places I wouldn’t dare admit my shortcomings, PLT isn’t one of them. From each of the coaches to the community itself, this truly is a special place that has been created to make everyone feel welcome, regardless of nutritional expertise. What dieting programs had you tried previously and what makes PLT stand out from previous programs? I have done WW, Isagenix shakes, Keto (that lasted 2 weeks), Intermittent Fasting, and tracking calories countless times on Sparkpeople, WW Online and MyFitnessPal. PLT is different because there is no product, there’s no magic pill. PLT is all about knowledge and mindset. PLT has taught me that tracking is more than plugging in numbers, it’s about reading the data and understanding how your body reacts not to food per se, but to nutrients. What was your driving reason for joining PLT? PLT was my last-ditch effort to get healthy. I needed guidance in learning how to eat, not diet, but really eat. As I explored PLT, I felt like this company was nutrition first, diet second and that is exactly what I needed when I needed it. How much weight have you lost with PLT? 47 lb and counting! How many total inches have you lost with PLT? 35 inches, 6” off each thigh even! What?! What non-scale successes have you found since joining PLT? One of my biggest NSV's has been the ability to acknowledge that I deserve to be proud of my journey thus far. I don’t need to wait to celebrate my accomplishment or goal weight because every day that I show up for myself is a day for me to be proud of myself. How have you increased your nutritional education since PLT? I feel like my diet has had a complete overhaul, yet at the same time stayed realistic to the way in which I like to eat. I now have the expertise to balance a plate that best fuels my body, but I don’t have to create an extravagant meal to make that happen. I've learned that my food is neither good nor bad but can acknowledge that it may not be suitable to help me reach my goals AT THIS TIME. I no longer constantly need a tracker to tell me if I had a balanced meal. What 1 piece of advice would you give to people considering joining PLT or new members? Be honest with your coach, listen and learn from them. You have paid for their expertise, let them support you. When I joined, I made the decision to turn off all the noise of all the “experts” online. If you have provided your coach with everything you want them to know, they are the ones best suited to give you advice. What’s your name and where do you come from? Suzanne, from the UK currently living in Connecticut. Do you have a family and what’s your profession? I have 4 boys ages 4-9 and I am a Child Psychotherapist How did you get introduced to PLT?
Via a Peloton Nutrition FB group recommendation Who is your coach? Lori Carroll Name 3 things that sum up your thoughts on your coach? Caring, supportive, flexible Are you engaged in regular exercise/a sport? Yes! I follow the hardCORE calendar (strength training) religiously, cycle 3 times a week, run once a week and play tennis. How did you find your PLT onboarding experience & community experience? I think the FB group is amazing, even before I was a paying client I gained so much (free) information about macros, nutrition and lifestyle. It is obvious that Paul, Patti and the leadership team work extremely hard to give a first rate experience to their clients which although growing still manages to feel like a family. What dieting programs had you tried previously and what makes PLT standout from previous programs? Almost everything haha. The PLT difference for me is the flexibility, that there are no banned foods/food groups and a focus on long term sustainability (let’s face it - the only success marker for a diet). What was your driving reason for joining PLT? I’d made some good weight loss progress on my own but for me the growth area is maintenance long term - that is what I wanted coaching around, i.e. sustainable lifestyle/habit changes. How much weight have you lost with PLT? I lost a total of 31 lbs! How many total inches have you lost with PLT? I lost 22 total inches from my body! How have you increased your nutritional education since PLT? Yes, hugely and I’m still learning. What 1 piece of advice would you give to people considering joining PLT or new members? Do it! Use the community, ask for help. If you can fully adhere/commit to this, results are inevitable! What’s your name and where do you come from? I'm Lauren Fetzer and I'm from Canton, GA (north metro-Atlanta). Do you have a family and what's your profession? I have been married to my husband, Josh, for 5 years and we have 2 boys - Lucas (4) and Carson(3). And we can't forget Lexi, the fur-baby! I am a stay-at-home mom, but I also have a baking business on the side. So there are constantly cakes, cookies and sweet treats in our house! How did you get introduced to PLT? I saw PLT mentioned throughout various Peloton Facebook pages. Who is your coach? Patti Lawson Name 3 things that sum up your thoughts on your coach 1. Patti has so much knowledge about nutrition and freely shares it with everyone because she is so passionate about what she does. 2. She is such a role model in all areas. Whether it's coaching, working out, cooking, her family and beyond, she gives it her all. And has amazing things to show for all of it! 3. Patti may not be my coach forever, but I have made a lifelong friend. Are you engaged in regular exercise/a sport? I'm a Peloton addict (find me on the leaderboard - CabernetCycler)! I alternate between riding the Bike and running. Last fall I completed the Virtual Boston Marathon and hope to run it in person in the next few years! How did you find your PLT onboarding experience & community experience?
The onboarding experience was so easy! I went into extra detail on my onboarding form, so I knew whatever coach I was assigned would know what they were getting into. Sitting back and watching the community while I waited just made me even more sure I made the right decision. Everyone is so supportive, kind and they give the best advice and recipes! It helps so much knowing that, along with your coach, you have a community of THOUSANDS behind you, too! What dieting programs had you tried previously and what makes PLT standout from previous programs? What haven't I tried? Keto, intermittent fasting, low fat, low calorie, Weight Watchers, HCG diet, juices, cleanses, pills, all of it! Before I had my own story with PLT, I could tell there was something different about this one. Everyone seemed happy. People were getting results and keeping them. No one was complaining about starving, no one mentioned "keto flu" or horrible headaches or anything like that. And coaches show off the ice cream they're eating? Sign me up! Now that I have been on my own journey, I can confirm that all of what I was seeing is true. PLT doesn't treat nutrition as a punishment. You don't eliminate anything you don't want to. Sure, you may have to scale back, but they definitely believe that you should still be able to enjoy life! What was your driving reason for joining PLT? At the time, my boys were 3 and 2. I could already see myself not having the energy to keep up with them because I was carrying so much extra weight. I knew that I wanted them to have memories of me actually playing with them and having fun with them, not sitting on the side just watching because I couldn't. I wanted to be confident enough to take them to the pool, lake and beach and not feel like I have to sit in the shadows so no one sees me in a swimsuit. I wanted to play baseball and football with them in the back yard. They were and continue to be my why! How much weight have you lost with PLT? 67 lbs (SO FAR!) How many total inches have you lost with PLT? Over 43" What non-scale successes have you found since joining PLT? I wore a bikini at the beach! I had to reset my Apple Face ID because even it didn't recognize me anymore! I have some clothes that still have tags on them that used to be too tight, now they're too loose! How have you increased your nutritional education since joining PLT? I've learned the importance that each macro has. I grew up in the Atkins era, so "carbs are bad" has just been ingrained in my mind. That's just not true. Everything has it's place in the right amounts, and those amounts can change daily depending on what all you have going on. Also, excessively tracking is never good for anyone. There are definitely foods that we don't need to measure, weigh or track. It's exhausting and just not worth it! I've also learned that almost every restaurant has a healthy food, you just have to know what to look or ask for. What 1 piece of advice would you give to people considering joining PLT or new members? If you're considering joining, what are you waiting on? You'll never regret investing in yourself! You have SO many people ready to cheer you on and help you reach your goals. You won't be doing this alone and we all get just as excited when others succeed as we do with our own success! If you're a new member, remember that perfection just isn't possible. Daily small improvements lead to major results! It's why you'll see and hear "1% better everyday" a lot around here. And probably my favorite mindsets on this journey is this: If you drop your phone and get a small crack in it, would you take a hammer to it to completely ruin it? No. So if you don't eat well for breakfast, don't sabotage the rest of the day. If Monday is less than desirable, the entire week isn't ruined. It's just a small blip! Your turn now; what 1 question would you like to ask me? You’ve been at this for a while. I know temptations never fully go away, but how do you avoid them and maintain your healthy eating lifestyle so well the majority of days? I know if there are certain foods in the house I WILL eat them (Cheez-Its may forever be my PLT reputation). But you seem to have it all together and balanced so well! Hi Lauren, Thanks for the question! Oh boy, i wish i had it figured out! Like our clients, i have cravings and indulgency's. I have moments of stress where i eat and times when I don't eat much. Overall though i make it work; luckily the foods I love are lean proteins and things like cauliflower rice, avocado (i'm the #avocadoaday guy) and I have never been into pizza, hot dogs etc. So generally my diet is straight and narrow, where it falls down are things like ice cream or granola! When I start on granola I can't stop, so I don't buy it - controlling your environment is a key part of our diet strategy. Also, I exercise pretty my daily and I always weigh myself. I don't have any issues from the scale and I use it, with the mirror, to guide me when I should eat a little less. Ultimately, I swore I would never return to being overweight and so I manage myself daily to keep myself in shape. We always need to manage ourselves, maintenance doesn't allow a free for all but it allows a lot of flexibility as long as we manage our weight and adjust as we need to! tks Paul |
