What’s your name and where do you come from? My name is Margaret Alicea I live in NC now for the last 12 years. I'm Originally from RI though. Do you have a family and what’s your profession? I have a daughter Janelle, son in law Julio & my precious granddaughter Indyana. We bought a house together in NC so I get to spend lots of time with my granddaughter. I'm semi retired, but still run a small business from my home now. I'm what they call a distributor. I sell all kinds of forms like checks letterhead, invoices. Basically anything a business might need to run their business. How did you get introduced to PLT?
I was introduced to PLT through a Peloton group I was part of. Who is your coach? My coach is the one & only Paul Leonard. Name 3 things that sum up your thoughts on your coach 1. He is the real deal, genuine, honest & sincere In his desire to help people. 2.He is always willing & able to explain the science behind what he says. 3. He is so knowledgeable about many things, especially about woman's bodies & how they work. Are you engaged in regular exercise/a sport? Yes I am now. I enjoy climbing Mountains, jogging , & riding my Peloton. I also love working out with weights. Currently trying to fit the PLT LIFT program into my routine. How did you find your PLT Nutrition onboarding experience & community experience? The PLT experience is like nothing I've ever experienced. It's an amazing program that gets you to think differently & that's not always easy to do for an almost 70 year old who has tried every diet out there. The change is gradual but you need to be open to it. The community is one of the shining stars of this whole experience. It adds so much to this program. To be able to share & read other people's progress , and changes of what is happening in their lives is amazing & so helpful on your own journey. What dieting programs had you tried previously and what makes PLT standout from previous programs? My most recent was Weight Watchers. I've done Atkins & Jenny Craig years ago. Lots of them. How PLT stands out is its a very relaxed approach. You get to choose the foods you like & want to eat. Nothing is taboo, it's all real food you eat in your life. The coaching experience for me was new. This is also a huge part of the success clients have . The 1 on 1 is definitely instrumental in the success we have . You feel like you have the proper guidance, & support needed. What was your driving reason for joining PLT? Well I won a plan first, & had success , so i decided to sign up again for another plan to continue my weight loss journey. I quickly found that it is so much more then a weight loss journey. It's really a life changing adventure in finding what's the best way to fuel your body for optimal energy for the rest of your life. How much weight have you lost with PLT? I've lost almost 20 lbs How many total inches have you lost with PLT? 18 inches What non-scale successes have you found since joining PLT? The love of jogging. The ability to feel good in my own skin. To feel good in my clothes. So many things besides weight loss How have you increased your nutritional education since PLT? I thought I was pretty knowledgeable about my nutrition. Since being with PLT I have grown leaps & bounds with knowledge about nutrition. Like how important protein is , & how much my body really needs. How to fuel my body when I'm climbing mountains . I had a lot of "bad foods" good foods in my mind for years. When I would break down & eat a "bad food" it lead to guilt. Now I realize there are no bad or good, it's just food choices. What 1 piece of advice would you give to people considering joining PLT or new members? Do it, just do it. Invest in yourself, it will absolutely be the last diet you ever do. You will leave with the knowledge & tools to maintain all the new things you've learned and do it on your own! Use your coaches. Ask the questions, give them the information to help you. They absolutely are here for you in any way you need them. Your success is their success too. Your turn now; what 1 thing would you like to ask me? I realize that the company has a lot of woman clients. Is this something you planned by design, or did it just happen that way? Hi Margaret, thanks for the question! No, this wasn't the idea for PLT Nutrition. Over the 4 years since we started, we have always helped anyone that comes to use, whether an elite athlete or a SAHM. Over these 4 years we have certainly developed a 'specialty' (if you want to call it that) for helping women who are unhappy with their bodies and relationship with food. At this stage we have successfully helped >17,000 clients and 89% are women who are in the peri/post menopausal life stage. Its the most challenging time for them and we are glad we can help demystify their situation for them. We ensure all our coaches are specilaized in this particular area of nutrition. tks Paul Comments are closed.
