What’s your name and where are you from? My name is Joanna Koehler. I was born and raised in MO, but after state hopping for a bit in my 20s, for the past 5 years I have been living in TN. Do you have a family? I am married to my best friend, and we have 3 little boys, a dog and 2 cats. What inspired you to work in the health and fitness industry? It started with a love for cooking that began as a little girl that grew into a passion to not just cook delicious food, but to learn how to make it healthy too. When it came time to pursue a career it seemed like a natural fit to use that passion for good to help others also live healthier lives. Our health as a whole has such an impact on all other areas of our lives, and it’s exciting to play a role in seeing those changes happen in other people’s lives. What’s your favorite food? That’s a tough question! LOL! I am a former chef and baker. I love growing, cooking, and eating foods of all kinds from all cuisines. Do you exercise and if so what’s your favorite workout?
My favorite workout is running outdoors. But I also love a good cardio/weight class. What’s one interesting, little-known fact about you? My husband turned me into a baseball fan. My family loves to watch the Atlanta Braves! If you could change one misbelief about nutrition, what would it be? The idea that certain foods have to be made “off-limits” in order to be healthy or to achieve the body that we want. Putting the word “shouldn’t” on foods produces an unnecessary level of guilt and shame. What’s the best part about working with PLT? Everyone is so friendly! And I enjoy getting to interact with the clients and get to know them. What’s your number one tip for people just starting their weight loss journey? It likely took years to get to the place they are in today, and habits aren’t easily reversed overnight, but change is possible one step at a time. Comments are closed.
