A year ago today PLT Nutrition & Fitness was born, and its been a truly incredible year... Watching the review video honestly had me teary & mouth open in wonder - did we really do all that? During our 1st year, we grew to 7 coaches and more than 1100 clients in 27 countries, took 2 clients to the CrossFit Games, 3 clients represented their country at Olympic Weightlifting & some won OCR races; mainly though we helped our clients achieve their goals. We know from our data the 3 most common reasons for clients joining PLT are to ‘lose a little weight’ to ‘feel better in their clothes’ & to ‘learn about nutrition’. PLT is focused on being a nutrition company; many clients want to lose weight, but our focus remains to provide healthy solutions to weight loss, muscle gain & athletic performance - we will never be a weight loss company per se & adopt some of the practices used by other companies. We believe in health partnerships with our clients and we teach good nutrition with a healthy balance of fun. Our strong code of conduct and business charter, controls how we conduct our work. We will never be able, nor want, to support high numbers of clients because our charter is against elements of industry automation and certainly against cheerleading, we are a hands on company with very real coaching. We pride ourselves on our client interactions & connections, every client's plan is unique and we are very proactive with calorie adjustments & strategies. It’s been tough at times, staggeringly so, but I’m truly grateful for the love and support system around me. From my family, who have to deal with me always seemingly working, to our coaches who have to deal with my continual improvements/enhancements/changes to processes - I thank you To our clients; I’d like to thank each of you personally for your investment in our vision. Year 1 we kinda did ok... Here’s to Year 2 What can you expect in 2020?
Plus lots & lots more clients being awesome, achieving goals and connecting, exercising, drinking coffee & being a real community! Continuous Effort 💛 Tks Paul A 3 minute read What’s your name and where do you come from? Heather Napieralski, Stow, Ohio Do you have a family and what’s your profession? I have a husband, Jeff and a 10 year old daughter, Lucy. I am a Communications Coordinator for a material supplier How did you get introduced to PLT?
My friend Stephanie was a client. I noticed her amazing results and had to learn more. Who is your coach? Coach Deb! Name 3 things that sum up your thoughts on your coach 1. Inspirational- She is so strong mentally and physically! 2. Relatable, she understands where I am coming from and follows a plan too 3. Smart-Coach Deb knows her stuff! Are you engaged in regular exercise/a sport? Yes, CrossFit 3-4 days/week and I love to hike and do anything active outdoors. How did you find your PLT onboarding experience & community experience? The onboarding process was very smooth. My coach sent me the information a few days before I started to get comfortable with the process and answered all my questions. The PLT Community is a great resource for answering questions and sharing ideas and information. I love the daily motivation! What dieting programs had you tried previously and what makes PLT standout from previous programs? I think I have tried every program before PLT! If there is an "elimination diet" out there, I probably tried it. PLT is different because I don’t feel like it is a diet, it is an education and a way of living. Since I have started the program, I have learned about nutrition, what fuels me and what it fits my lifestyle. My plan is tailored specifically for me and I have coaching, support and accountability every step of the way. What successes have you found since joining PLT, scale or non-scale? I feel like a new person with a new mindset! Losing almost 35 pounds since I started the program is probably the most visible change but the biggest successes are those that cannot be seen in the mirror. I have psoriatic arthritis that is treated with weekly injections. Since cleaning up my diet and investing in my health, (and with the help of my Dr), I was able to significantly cut down on my medication. I am moving much easier now and my energy and performance at the gym has increased. I am feeling more confident and I am obsessed with setting and crushing goals! How have you increased your nutritional education since PLT? I am more aware of what I am putting in my body. Learning how to track my food was such an eye opener and I had never realized how much the BLTs would add up throughout the course of a day. I am a planner, so using an app to pre plan my day has been key for my success. Knowing how much I need of each macro helps me stay satisfied and stay on track. I just started my third session and am truly understanding balance. I am getting to the point that I can enjoy going out to dinner or have a night out and stay on track because I am aware of how I am feeding myself throughout the rest of the week. What 1 piece of advice would you give to people considering joining PLT or new members? Invest in yourself and stay the course…anything worth having takes time and hard work. This is a great community for support and help along the way. Your turn now; what 1 thing would you like to ask me? I started learning about fitness and nutrition late into my thirties…when did you start investing in yourself and become so fit? Hi Heather, tks for the question! I became heavily involved and influenced by weight training at the age of 13, learning about muscle development, macros, and even amino acids. I attended a power lifting gym and used to squat regularly with the men. This continued on into my 20's before I became interested in other aspects of life. There were some periods where my interest in lifting returned but it wasn't until 2014 where my real journey began. Over the years I'd become considerably overweight and unfit and in November '14 I decided to make a change for my health losing 57lbs in 20 weeks. My passion had returned and to this day burns very brightly. |
